Our three-day adventure from Fes to Merzouga begins with an immersion in the varied and captivating landscapes of Morocco.
Leaving Fes, we head south, passing through majestic cedar forests and the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is the charming town of Ifrane, Know by its alpine architecture and impeccable gardens. Then we continue to Azrou, a traditional Berber village where we will have the opportunity to meet the Barbary monkeys that inhabit the surrounding forests. Continuing our route, we cross the vast plains of Midelt before reaching the Ziz valley, famous for its lush palm groves and ancient kasbahs. We will spend the night in the town of Erfoud, known for its fossils and dates, offering a taste of the Saharan adventure that awaits us.
The second day takes us into the heart of the Sahara Desert, with our final destination being the village of Merzouga, located at the foot of the majestic dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Arriving in Merzouga, we change our modern mode of transportation for camels. And begin a fascinating camel ride through the golden dunes. The landscape constantly changes with the sunlight, creating stunning panoramas and incredible photographic opportunities. At dusk, we reach our Berber camp, where we will be welcomed with traditional mint tea. The evening continues with a dinner under the stars, composed of typical Moroccan dishes. Followed by music and songs around the campfire. Sleeping in comfortable tents in the middle of the desert, with the starry sky as your only cover, will be an unforgettable experience.
The third day begins with waking up at dawn to admire the sunrise over the dunes, a spectacular vision that will remain engraved in our memories.
After breakfast at the camp, we get back on our camels to return to Merzouga, where our vehicle will be waiting for us for the return journey. En route to Fez, we will pass through the varied landscapes of Morocco, revisiting picturesque sites and enjoying the surrounding natural beauty. We will make strategic stops to rest and enjoy the panoramas before concluding our trip in Fez at the end of the day.
